In a very exciting development, the ABC Science Unit has selected the first three fellows under the Science Journalism Fellowship Program, which is funded by ABC Friends with support from the Margaret Bales Project Fund. There were 124 high quality applicants, and it was decided to appoint the first three fellows initially, with staggered take up for easier management.
Naomi Belic will commence shortly, with a weekly social media video series of evidence-based investigations of wellness trends.
Conor O’Keefe will commence later this year, with a five part podcast series mixing true crime with dinosaur science.
Clair Concannon will commence next year, with a seven part podcast series about the science of time.
The head of the ABC Science Unit, Jonathan Webb, is currently finalising the details with each fellow.
