Under its Federal charter, the ABC is required to inform, entertain, educate, and reflect Australia’s cultural diversity — with trusted news and investigative journalism at its core. In an era of misinformation and wilful bias, independent public broadcasting matters more than ever. Our democracy depends on it. ABC Friends works to engage the community and advocate for the ABC’s funding and editorial independence. We do this through working groups covering Membership, Communications, Political Advocacy, Regional Awareness, and Events. To strengthen that advocacy, we need to grow our membership — particularly among new generations. The future of the ABC depends on it. Join us.
